this was the problem with my ex-wife, she lost total interest in sex. Now this alone was not enough for us to break up but it seems that there was very little communication and it got to the point where I actually dreaded going home.

The loss in interest could be a result rather than the cause, perhaps it was the lack of communication, although of course I do not really know the entire story.

Well my theory is marriages fall apart because..
1. A partner lies.
2. The other partner gets suspicious.
3. The other partner got caught.
4. The trust is gone.
5. Communication is lost.
6. Everything else falls apart because no one wants to communicate because either they are too hurt or angry.
7. They eventually give up trying and just want out of it

why would any relationship fall?

Because it was never right in the first place.... maybe someone cheated or was being dishonest .... and then the other finds out and the relationship goes poof
